Does your Research Make a Difference? Translation of Sun Protection and UVR Risk Reduction Behaviour into Community Settings
Associate Professor Lois Loescher, a behavioural scientist from the Skin Cancer Institute at the Arizona Cancer Center, The University of Arizona, Tuscon, USA, will present a seminar entitled "Does your Research Make a Difference? Translation of Sun Protection and UVR Risk Reduction Behavior into Community Settings"
A/Prof Loescher will present on models of research translation and their application to skin cancer prevention and early detection. Many skin cancer-related interventions have been developed, but what are their translational aims, and do they achieve these aims? A/Prof Loescher will reflect on the theoretical bases that guide interventions and evaluations, and present an overview of translational models and areas for improvements.
A/Prof Loescher has a distinguished career focusing on the development of skin cancer prevention and early detection programs and intervention materials. She will be in Brisbane from the 8th - 16th September as the 2016 Researcher in Residence for the CRE for the Study of Naevi.
